I think that the most ideal investor is Mark Cuban. While he might seem too eccentric for some people, they have to realize that this is the same energy that he brings to his businesses. His connections are very vast in the sports world, which is the industry in which my business, Swing Sports, is in. With my business being centered around athletes who want to get better during the off-season and Mark Cuban’s connections in the professional sports world, he could take my business to the next level. In addition to his professional sports connections, he has a very large platform for advertisement as he is the owner of the Dallas Mavericks. The Mavericks play in the American Airlines Center which is a huge platform that hundreds of thousands of people go through a week. With this recognition, I would be able to promote my business to fans that might be interested in Golf as well as Basketball.
I think the difference between Marcus Lemonis and the Sharks is Marcus Lemonis is trying to turn a failing business into a profitable business for him and the owners. Shark Tank is about taking a preexisting business (not necessarily failing) and helping fund it if the Sharks think the business has the potential to be profitable. In other words, I think the Sharks are business partners and Marcus Lemonis is like a co-owner trying to help failing businesses.
