After watching episodes of both Shark Tank and The Profit in class, I found that the best of the two shows (for an entrepreneur) is The Profit. The mentor on The Profit, Marcus Lemonis, goes to the business that he is considering investing in and helps the owners make their business work again right there and then. Marcus shows the owners how to make their business more successful and teaches them how to make more money. In the episode with Car Cash as the business in need of help, Marcus goes to the cite, finds and addresses the problem and is able to make their current cite into a model for the next 50 cites that have since popped up all over America.
I would choose to go on The Profit if I was given the choice but if I went on Shark Tank, I would hope for Mark Cuban or Lori Greiner as my investor. Mark Cuban has an inner drive and passion that is unparalleled to any other Shark and he is great with internet sales which is something that my Trail Power Bar company could really use seeing that many people order their bars online so they can get more at a time. Lori is the best marketer and best person to help an entrepreneur find the best packaging, logo and overall brand image. These two Sharks would make a great team and would definitely help my business grow.

A major difference between Shark Tank and The Profit is that in The Profit, Marcus comes and visits the business and in Shark Tank, the entrepreneur meets with the Sharks in a formal business situation. This difference is a key difference in the shows. I feel that having the investor see what the situation was while investing is a better scenario for everyone involved because Marcus is able to come and get the new system right the first time.
